D.M. in Clinical Hematology
DM in Medical Oncology
The department has started a 3 year DM course in Medical Oncology. Currently the program is open for sponsored and foreign candidates and soon, open seats will also be started.
The candidates will be trained in evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of various malignancies. The department is involved in multidisciplinary tumor boards with various other partnering departments to provide best care to the patients and best exposure to the trainee candidates.
Apart from management of solid tumors, the candidates doing DM Medical Oncology will also get rotation in bone-marrow transplant and Cellular therapy units where they have an opportunity to learn to perform various types of hematopoietic stem cell transplants including Haploidentical transplant, Matched unrelated/related donor transplant, Autologous transplants for various disorders. The department is also active in providing CART cell therapy to eligible patients and the candidates can learn about this evolving field of medicine during their training in the department.
The department has a large research program where a large number of clinical trials and investigator initiated trials are being performed. During the DM course, the trainee will get a first hand experience to be involved in day to day functioning of research work. It will give them a great insight into research methodology and they shall gather sufficient experience to do medical research on their own after completion of the DM program.
